The 19-year-old claimed last month that he was set to leave the club on a free transfer following three seasons in west London, but he is now ready to discuss a new contract.
Familio-Castillo,
19, has made a big impact at junior level — winning the FA Youth Cup
and featuring in back-to-back UEFA Youth League finals — but he has yet
to feature for the Blues' first team.
Familio-Castillo
— who can play at left back or as a winger — previously worked with
Morris when he was on the Chelsea books as a youth coach between 2014
and 2018.
Lampard's arrival with
Morris is likely to have a positive impact on multiple youngsters at the
club, giving them hope that they will be given opportunities to shine
in the senior setup.
Chelsea are set to pay Derby £4million in compensation for Lampard, who has won 24 games, drawn 17 and lost 16 as Derby boss.
