Drinkwater has been involved in preseason's preparations for the 2019/20 campaign, but it has been reported that boss Frank Lampard is keen to sell the England international before the window closes.

Chelsea have allegedly not received a single offer for the 29-year-old, who did not make a single Premier League appearance last season after featuring in the Community Shield.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Brighton - now managed by Graham Potter - have approached Chelsea with the view to signing the former Leicester City midfielder on loan for the 2019/20 campaign.
