Frank Lampard offered contract to become Chelsea manager

Chelsea have reportedly 'offered Frank Lamaprd a contract' to take over as manager until 2022.

Chelsea have reportedly offered Frank Lampard a contract until 2022.

The Blues are in the hunt for a new manager after Maurizio Sarri left to take charge at Juventus.

Sarri enjoyed a successful campaign at Stamford Bridge, guiding them to a third-place finish before winning the Europa League against Arsenal in Baku.

But Sarri was given diverse opinions among supporters due to rigid non-flexible team selections and regular digs at fans in his press conferences.

Club chiefs were happy to let him leave in order to replace Massimiliano Allegri at Juve which was officially announced on Sunday.

Also, Italian journalist Nicolo Schira reports that Lampard’s return to Stamford Bridge is edging closer.

“#Chelsea is closing for Frank #Lampard as a new manager,” Schira tweeted.

“Blues have offered a contract until 2022. #transfers #CFC.”
