Chelsea defender to join Coventry City

Chelsea defender Fankaty Dabo will be leaving Chelsea and joining Coventry City when his contract expires this summer.

The 23-year-old, who has been at the club since Under-12 level, was most recently on loan at Netherland's side Sparta Rotterdam having previously spent time at Vitesse and Swindon and has represented England at Under-20 level.

Dabo was an FA Youth Cup winner and a Under-21 league champion and at Coventry he will be reunited with one of his former Chelsea coaches Adi Viveash, who is assistant to the Sky Blues’ manager Mark Robins. Coventry are in League One.

This means another loan spell for the player, without him ever tasting first team football with the Blues. We wish him good luck at Coventry.
