Possible 4-3-2-1 line-up to face Arsenal

Here's how we think Maurizio Sarri could set up his side for the Europa League final in Baku with four senior players ruled out through injury.

Chelsea Players

Chelsea are without four first-team players for the Europa League final against Arsenal on Wednesday night.

N’Golo Kante is the latest to join an injury list already populated by Antonio Rudiger, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi.


That leaves manager Maurizio Sarri with limited options, particularly in midfield, as he attempts to finish his first season in England on a high.

Here’s how we think Chelsea could line-up tomorrow:

Defence

Chelsea's Cesar Azpilicueta in action

Since Rudiger’s injury at the end of April, Andreas Christensen has emerged as the first choice partner for David Luiz.

While Marcos Alonso has been the first-choice left-back for most of the season, Sarri has usually opted for Emerson in this competition.


Kepa Arrizabalaga and Cesar Azpilicueta have been mainstays in goal and at right-back respectively.

Midfield

Chelsea's Jorginho

With Kante and Loftus-Cheek both injured there are a real dearth of options available to Sarri in midfield.


Jorginho will start in his usual quarter-back role, directing play in front of the back four, with Mateo Kovacic and Ross Barkley expected to start either side.

Attack

Chelsea's Olivier Giroud, Top Goal scorer

Eden Hazard has been rested for most Europa League games this season but is almost a certain starter in what could be his last appearance for the club.


Olivier Giroud is the competition’s top scorer this term and should therefore get the nod ahead of Gonzalo Higuain up top while Sarri will be left to choose between Pedro and Willian on the opposite flank to Hazard.
