According to The Sun, Milan snubbed the chance to turn his loan into a £35million switch.
But the report details that Serie A rivals Inter Milan are
lining up a potential swoop, as they could be about to appoint former
Blues boss Antonio Conte as their manager.
It is understood that Conte wants a reunion with Bakayoko at the San Siro if he lands the Inter job.
Meanwhile, the report also adds that Inter’s general
manager Beppe Marotta has a good relationship with the player’s
representatives and talks are underway.
The Sun explain that there are talks underway about a loan
deal for next season with Inter paying Chelsea £5million, with the
option to buy for £30million the following summer.
Bakayoko has made just 43 appearances for Chelsea since he joined for £40million (BBC) from Monaco back in 2017 and it would be a major shock if he’s seen in West London again.
He’s yet to recapture the kind of form he showed in Monaco, but at his age still has time on his side and a switch to Inter looks best for all parties involved.
