The Times report Chelsea are ready to hand a fresh deal to their
Spanish midfielder, with United eyeing him up as a potential transfer
target for next summer.
Fabregas’ existing contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire in 18 months, when the playmaker will be 32.
The Blues have a policy of only giving one-year contracts to players
over the age of 30, and it remains to be seen whether they will adjust
that to accommodate a player who is said to be integral to manager
Antonio Conte’s plans.
The Times says Conte has assured Fabregas he remains a key part of
the squad at the Bridge, following the summer arrival of Tiemoue
Bakayoko from Monaco.
The midfielder’s current deal at Stamford Bridge is due to expire at the end of next season
