Gary Cahill: 'Six clubs can challenge for Premier League title'
Blues captain Gary Cahill tells Soccer AM's Tubes as many as six teams
could challenge for the Premier League title this season.
The defender has been handed the captaincy at the Premier League champions for the 2017/18 season following John Terry's departure to championship side Aston Villa.
With the Blues and Liverpool returning to European football, and all top six clubs strengthening considerably in the transfer market along with Everton, Cahill believes the title race will be more open than ever.
In an exclusive interview with Soccer AM's Tubes, which will air on Saturday as the show returns after the summer, Cahill said: "At the minute I think there are any of six teams who could lift the trophy, maybe even more, so it's going to be tough.
"But that has to be our aim and ambition. As do the other big clubs, that's what they strive to achieve. We managed to do it last year and we know how difficult it is. We're going to work extra hard, even harder than last year, to make sure we compete."

As the Blues return to the Champions League, a competition they won in 2012 in Munich, Cahill said they are back where they belong in Europe's elite competition.
"It's amazing to be back in the Champions League, we want to be back on the big stage. Last year it was annoying when you were at home watching the games, where you used to be involved in those games. We're back where we belong, and for the players and fans it's very exciting."
