What!? Carrasco to Chelsea?
Since the beginning of the transfer window, Chelsea have been linked with many players, which we know!
More recently rumors have surfaced suggesting that Chelsea will try and sign Atletico Madrid’s Yannick Ferreira Carrasco.
The 23 year old Belgian has reportedly been offered a 5-year contract by the Premier League champions, who are also willing to pay £44 million for his service.
It is also suggested that Chelsea may want Carrasco in exchange for Costa who is close to leaving Chelsea. Carrasco scored 10 goals in 35 appearances for Atletico in La Liga while creating 33 chances helping Atletico finish 3rd. He scored 2 goals and created 14 chances in 12 Champions League appearances helping Atletico reach the semi finals of the Champions League.
He is also Champions League experienced having played for and scoring in a Champions League final for Atletico.
Carrasco might not seem like an upgrade on what Chelsea already have, but with Champions League football this term and Hazard being injured, Chelsea will need to add squad depth in order to challenge for the Champions League and also to defend their Premier League crown.
